Party chief Owaisi says will win some and‘surprise many political veterans.
Owaisi said AIMIM is open to tie-up with local Dalit outfits.
Buoyed by its “spectacular performance” in recently held civic polls in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad district, Hyderabad-based All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has now set its eyes on upcoming #panchayat elections in #UttarPradesh. The outfit is also exploring options for tie-up with local Dalit outfits in the state. Elections for #village_panchayat, #block_pramukh and its #members, #zila_panchayat and its #chairman are scheduled end of this year here. We will surely contest the panchayat polls in UP.
It will be our first foray in state’s electoral politics and we expect good response from public. It will give us a platform to convey our issues to the masses. It may sound disturbing to several parties in UP, but in a democratic country you cannot stop anyone from contesting polls,”
#Asaduddin_Owaisi, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP told The Indian Express.
